ROLE PLAY ON GOOD AND BAD TOUCH
An interactive workshop was conducted for little Goenkans where students were made aware of good and bad touch and stranger danger.
The Story telling workshop was organized by G.D.Goenka Public School, Junior on 22nd May 2018. It was conducted by Ms. Shefali Malhotra, a certified story teller from Kathalya. She has enlighted the students ability to communicate thoughts and feelings in lucid manner.
Parenting is a beautifully fulfilling experience. It is a bond that is nurtured each day and gets stronger with time. Positive Parenting session was conducted by renowned psychologist and counselor MS. Avneet on 05.08.2017 at junior school premises.
It's Movie time
As a part of excursion, children of K.G. went for the movie "Cars 3" on 12.07.2017.They had a great time relishing popcorns and drinks.It was a great experience for them to watch the movie with their fellowmates..
It's time for sum fun
The students of class Nursery were taken out for the movie "Car 3" on 11.07.2017.
Children throughly enjoyed the animation along with the finger licking popcorn and drinks.
ROLE PLAY ON GOOD AND BAD TOUCH
A special assembly on "Good touch and Bad" touch was conducted on 06.07.2017 and 07.07.2017 i.e. Thursday and Friday. Children were sensitized about the same through a role play by K.G. and Nursery teachers. The handout was given to sensitized the awareness among the parents.
A funfilled story telling session was organised for K.G. and Nursery.
A workshop on "Inclusive Education" was conducted by Ms.Harmeet with the teachers on 20th May 2017, wherein she demonstrated the real classroom situation and suggested intresting techniques of teaching that would enhance the learning skills among the children by focusing on personal/ social interaction for their betterment .
A workshop on "Multiple Intelligece" was taken up by Ms.Madhu Sharma an expert from Oxford University Press on 23rd May 2017 at senior wing of G.D.Goenka Public School. It was an activity based interactive session focusing on how different level of intelligences should be mixed together for the better enlightment of the children so it helps in their holisitic development.
An interactive workshop on the topic “Effective Circle time through story telling” was conducted by Simi Srivastava, at Kathashala Educational services Pvt Ltd. on Saturday 1st October 2016 at M.L. Bhartia Auditorium.
The workshop highlighted the impact of circle time in teaching & learning process and many new innovative ideas were discussed. Important points like how to start a circle time, frequency of the circle time, organizing space and role of the teacher in circle time were discussed in detail. They also demonstrated various activities which can be taken up during the circle time.
Overall it was a great learning experience which will help in effective teaching and learning process in the class room.
An enriching workshop for teachers was conducted on 17th September' 16 at G.D. Goenka Public School Vasant Kung to brief them about various curriculum implementations techniques for effective teaching-learning process.
Mrs. Jolly Singh, from Bangalore working with “Young Angles” took the workshop on the topic “Correlation” at G.D. Goenka, Vasant Kunj on 20.08.16. She had discussed about how correlation can be integrated in our working system and can make the learning easy and better. The uses, principles and types of correlation were discussed and how their connectivity in different subjects will render fruitful learning outcomes.
A workshop on “Cyber Crime” taken up by Mr. Rakshit Tondon on 3rd September'16 left us pondering upon the flip sides of using the internet. He alerted us as parents and teachers to be aware of what our children do on internet and what safety measures should be taken to avoid any kind of discomfort and harm that can be caused due to it.
A workshop on Good Touch & Bad Touch was conducted by a team of teachers at school on Tuesday 20th September'16. The workshop stressed on the special parts to be taken care of and to be careful from the strangers. A Quiz conducted after the dramatization by the teachers involved children answering the questions and receiving a safety badge.
It’s time for some movie fun!
The students of class K.G. were taken out for the movie “Angry Birds” on 4th August 2016. Children thoroughly enjoyed the animation along with finger licking popcorns & drinks.
On 2nd March'2016, the students of Pre-Nursery, Nursery and K.G. went to an adventure camp " Rocksport" at Bakhtawarpur, Alipur. children were exposed to various activities like Commando Net, Commando Crawling etc. which was a gateway to their gross motor development. Each activity was a challenge which our children performed with great enthusiasm. The Excursion proved to be a great success as children enjoyed playing in the tents and relished the scrumptions food with their friends.
As a part of Excursion, children went for a 3D movie show ' MINIONS'.. They had a gala time relishing pop corns and drinks.It was a great experience for them to watch a movie with their fellow friends.
A workshop on the ways to handle and take care of books was conducted by the teachers in which they explained the right and the wrong ways of handling books through a Powerpoint Presentation. A group activity was also organised as a part of the worskhop wherein the children made their own class story book named 'Forest Friends go to school'. The aim of this activity was not only to make the children aware of the do's and don'ts of handling books but also to facilitate teamwork.
Ms. Manjeet Kaur conducted a workshop with teacher's on 29th June 2015. She demonstrated real classroom situations and suggested interesting techniques of teaching that would enhance learning among small children. She also encouraged conducting of simple experiments to develop logical thinking in young minds. She was of the view that the more information children are exposed to, the better it is for their grasping ability.
A workshop on ' Teaching of numbers in kidergarten' was conducted by Ms. Minal of ' JodoGyan' on 26th June 2015. It was an activity based and interactive session. Ms. Minal demonstrated many activities to make learning interesting and fun filled for kid like creating new shapes by joining various shapes, various games and stories etc.
A worshop was conducted by one of the finest puppeteer Ms. Anurupa Roy from katkatha on 23rd June 2015.
She changed our view for puppetry as not just manipulating dolls with string but an amalgamation of plastic and performing arts where puppets come together with music,movement,physicality and theatre.Puupets are educational resources for children and are an excellent motivational resource to inspire the teaching to make it more interesting.
Further the session got more interactive and interesting when the teachers were given an oppourtunity to present a Puppet show using their self created puppets and Ms. Roy gave her valuable inputs for improvisation.
A workshop on Good Touch and Bad Touch was conducted on 24th September 2015. The concept of “My body belongs to me" was explained to children and they were briefed about how to take care of themselves. Instructional manual was also given to the children.
A workshop for parents was conducted at G.D.G.P.S. Model Town on the topic "Health care for children during Monsoon." by Dr. Vineet Sehgal from Max Super Specialty Hospital, Shalimar Bagh.
A story telling workshop was organized by Ms. Valentina Trivedi for teachers of Nursery to standard IIIrd in the senior wing.
