Assembly Schedule for the session-2023-24

• An assembly is when the school community, or a part of it, meets together to share aspects of life that are of worth. It acts as a medium for communicating matters of significance from one generation to another.

• The motive of having an assembly in a school is:

• To develop a feeling of affiliation and unity among students.

• To acquaint students with the school programme more clearly.

• To develop in students a sense of identity with the school.

• To enable students to share their experiences, stories, anecdotes with others.

• To provide them training in good social behaviour desired in public life.

• To motivate students by positive reinforcement in the form of praise or rewards awarded in public

• To facilitate the moral and religious development of students.

• To facilitate national integration and secularism through all-religion prayer meetings among students.

Special Assembly Republic Day Grade: Nursery

A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people.    

Special assembly on Republic Day was conducted by grade nursery. The students took pride in glorifying way and celebrated the spirit in unity.

The assembly commenced with prayer and children spoke few lines about republic day, later children performed melodious rhymes related to the celebration.

Children enthusiastically showcased their love for the country through a beautiful dance performance which left everyone spellbound.

General discussion related to Republic Day was done.

The assembly was concluded by our national anthem ( Jan Gan mann ) which was proudly sung by every child.

Special Assembly Republic Day Grade: KG

आन देश की शान देश की,

देश की हम संतान है,

तीन रंगो से रंगा तिरंगा,

अपनी यह पहचान है।

A special assembly on Republic Day was held on 25.01.2024 in GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior premises wherein students of grade KG exhibited their potential by participating in plethora of performances.

The assembly commenced with the reciting of gayatri mantra, prayer and singing patriotic songs. The little children endeared one and all with their melodious voice and diction. Group song presentation and instrumental music presentation set the nationalist mood. It was inspiring to see young Goenkans speaking their heart out about Nation’s history and values. They shared their thoughts about the significance of Republic Day.

The talented Goenkans enthralled everyone with their confidence, gait and jig. This was followed by a Hoopla dance performance based on the theme of Courage, Determination and Patriotism. The dance was much appreciated by all evoking a sense of pride and joy of being an Indian. Winners of Inter class Flat Race competition were felicitated with the certificates.

The assembly culminated with National Anthem sung by all the students and teachers.

Republic Day Week Long Celebration Nursery

Republic Day holds a special place in the hearts of all Indians. Every year, it is celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotism. The President of India unfurls the National Flag in a ceremony followed by a parade showcasing India’s cultural diversity and military strength. Schools, colleges, and other institutions nationwide celebrate this day with various cultural events and activities.

To motivate students to be enlightened and responsible citizens of our country, G D Goenka organized a weeklong celebration from 23.01.2024 to 25.01.2024 this year in which children participated with full enthusiasm.

Day 1

Importance and significance of Republic Day was explained through story narration and audio visual modules. They sang patriotic songs and enjoyed hand printing activity to make the national flag of India.

Day 2

A special assembly was conducted wherein students of grade nursery participated with full zest and zeal. The assembly started with a prayer followed by choir and reciting patriotic rhymes. Children spoke few lines about the festival and shared their thoughts. The assembly concluded with a beautiful dance performance followed by National Anthem.

Day 3

Going ahead with our celebration children showcased their drawing skills by drawing and colouring of Republic day scene in their sketch file. National flag craft was given as take away to the students.

Republic Day Week Long Celebration KG

A weeklong celebration was organized at G D Goenka Public School Model Town Junior to celebrate the National Festival of our country India. Following are the day wise activities conducted to celebrate Republic Day.

Day 1:

Discussion about the National festival Republic Day was done through related videos. Importance about this festival and how it is celebrated was taken up. Free hand drawing and colouring of Republic Day scene was done in art file.

DAY 2:

Children also showcased their patriotism by participating enthusiastically in ‘Fit India Race’, where they tried balancing tri colour balloons and enjoyed the fun filled day.

Day 3:

A special assembly celebrating Republic Day was conducted wherein the students of Grade KG participated and shared their feelings about the festival.

Children were excited to do sponge dabbing in the Soldier craft and carried the feeling of patriotism home as take away.

 In all it was a week full of activities depicting patriotism, love and respect for our country by each one of us.

 Day 4:

Discussion about how children celebrated their Republic Day with their family was taken up. Video related to Republic Day celebration was also shown in the class to deliver more knowledge about the same.

Special Assembly on Guru Nanak Jayanti (Nursery & KG)

“Remembering the supreme guru and his teachings”

The school has organized special assembly on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti, significance Sikh festival celebrating birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.The assembly commenced with a prayer (Gayatri Mantra and God’s love) followed by Sikh prayer Ek Onkar. After the prayer students spoke insightful liners highlighting key aspects of Guru Nanak Dev JI’s life and teachings. Students dressed up and enacted the roles of Panj Pyaras. The assembly was concluded with an engaging quiz session. The event served as a platform for fostering cultural awareness among the students.

Dussehra Celebration 

“No matter how powerful evil may seem, good always holds the ultimate victory”

The power of good is always stronger than the power of evil. Where there is darkness, a single act of goodness can bring light.  Goodness can overcome any evil. Story of Ramayana was taken up at G D Goenka Public School Junior through audio visual modules and story narration. Children were excited to see the effigy of Ravana in the school premises and were able to talk about the story of Lord Ram. They were able to understand and relate that goodness always triumphs over evil.

The month of August brings with it patriotic fervour and the true sentiment of being a proud Indian.GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior celebrated 76^th Independence Day which is themed as “Nation First, Always First” with great fervor and enthusiasm from 7.08.23 to 11.08.23. The school campus was beautifully decorated with balloons, display boards to commemorate the celebration.

Flameless cooking – tricolor sandwich – KG Grade

Hands on learning being forte of our school and with an idea to imbibe values of tricolor flag and its colors. Students of KG grade learning the steps of making tricolor sandwich and relished preparing and eating tri color sandwich. Students were also encouraged to make variations of tri color sandwiches using various vegetables and herbs at home with their parents.

“A kite flies high having trust and faith on the string to which it is tied.”

Students enjoyed refining their fine motor skills and were engaged in tearing and pasting on kite with tri colours. Students were encouraged to make pictures like good habits, clean India, my family etc. And fly their kites over weekend with the help of their parents.

Independence Day Competition – Nursery and Kindergarten Grade

Speaking improves the communication skills, boosts confidence and build leadership qualities in children. Young enthusiasts of our school actively participated in the Independence Day competition. It was a worth watching day to see our little Goenkans dressed up as national symbols, freedom fighters, tricolour flag and many more. Some of them spoke about roles of freedom fighters, some students recited rhymes and some students sand melodious songs to present and express their character.

“Art enables us to find ourself and love ourself at the same time”

The aforementioned quote rightly says that, art not only highlights our creative aspect, but it also expresses one’s inner feelings and desires. In this regard, Goenkans enjoyed making Independence Day scene and expressed their creativity at its best. They articulated their familiarity and understanding of independence in their own way and drew flag, kites, happy faces in their drawings and colour them as well.

Children enjoyed doing q tip printing in cap with tri colour holds great significance for the people for the India and represents the ideals, history and aspirations of the nation. The flag’s colours and design reflect the diversity of India’s culture, languages, religions and traditions.

Story of freedom – Nursery

Freedom is not the right to do as you please; it is the liberty to do as you ought.

Story of Aazadi ki kaahani was narrated by the teacher in which she spoke about the meaning of Independence and the symbols of valiant sacrifice of our freedom fighters and the people of India to attain freedom from British rule.

The spirit of freedom by our forefathers, was celebrated with a lot of zeal and patriotic sentiments.

Summer season

 “Rays of sunshine, ice- cream and popsicles, giggles and smiles… it’s summertime.”

 A special assembly was conducted by students of grade KG on theme “Summer season.” The assembly commenced with the morning prayer and “thought of the day.” They were given an introduction about the summer season. Precautionary measures were shared to deal with the scorching heat of the sun and keep us safe by putting sunscreen, sunglasses, hats. They showcased summer appliances and useful products like refrigerator, A.C, cotton clothes, fruits and vegetables and sensitized about their importance and usefulness. They also participated in Show and Tell wherein they spoke about their favorite summer drink. It was an endeavor to inculcate confidence and good communication skills amongst the Goenkans. The assembly was followed by a short story enactment on summer vacations and dance. The assembly concluded with the national anthem.

Holi Celebration

“Let us unite and paint, the heart with colors of happiness.”

Holi is one of the major festivals of India and is the most vibrant of all. The festival is celebrated across the four corners of India or rather across the globe. The festival is filled with so much fun and frolic that the very mention of the word ‘Holi’ draws smile and enthusiasm amongst the people. Holi also celebrates the arrival of Spring, a season of joy and hopes.

We at GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior, celebrated this festival with a lot of zeal. We had a colorful time with our kids. At GDGPS, we celebrated the festival in an eco-friendly manner. Children were sensitized about the need to save water.

Children enjoyed making Holi scene in their drawing files. Also, our little Genkan’s enjoyed doing blow printing in the Holi Craft and made colorful greeting card in grades KG and nursery respectively. Children enjoyed playing Holi and wished each other. All students and teachers felt the exuberance of warmth and the joy of vibrant colors applied on them. Children were shown video related to the festival. There was laughter, joy and merry making in the air. They will remember the day, spent cheerfully with joyous colorful memories. It was indeed a fun day and a joyful experience for everyone.

Unfurling of the National Flag was done in the school by Children were excited to take the Tri color Sun cap as take away. Discussion about the festival Basant Panchami was also taken up through Power point presentation, video and corner set up wherein children offered prayers to Goddess Saraswati.

Day 4:
Discussion about how children celebrated their Republic Day with their family was taken up. Video related to Republic Day celebration was also shown in the class to deliver more knowledge about the same. In all it was a week full of activities depicting patriotism, love and respect for our country by each one of us.

Republic Day Celebration

A NATION’S CULTURE RESIDES IN THE HEARTS AND IN THE SOUL OF ITS PEOPLE.”

The 74^th Republic Day of India was celebrated at GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior on 25th January 2023 with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervor. To mark the importance of this day, a small cultural programme was organized in the school premises by our little ones, which included Lord’s prayer, welcome speech, patriotic song, yoga drill, patriotic dance and unfurling the National flag.

The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity by their performances. The audience were enthralled by the mesmerizing performances of the tiny tots. The children were also briefed about the significance of each color of our national flag where in, Saffron stands for Courage, White stands for Peace and Green stands for Prosperity. Children carried the self-made tricolor sun cap with them as takeaway craft.

The little Goenkans celebrated the day with great enthusiasm honoring the Constitution of India.
