It is widely accepted that extracurricular activities are the best way of developing an individual’s personality and trimming down mental stress. A child can improve his/ her skills and enhance their confidence level.


Grandparents Day Grade: KG

GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior celebrated Grandparents Day, “आशीर्वाद- A LEGACY OF LOVE with great enthusiasm and joy. This special day aimed to honour the invaluable contributions of grandparents in the lives of our students and to strengthen the bond between generations. The celebration commenced with a warm welcome emphasizing the importance of family ties and the wisdom that grandparents provide. The students showcased their talents through various performances, including dance, rhyme recitation, a song presentation, and nukkad natak that highlighted the role of grandparents in our lives. A talk show was held, where grandparents shared their favourite stories and life lessons with the children. This intergenerational exchange was both entertaining and educational, fostering a deeper understanding of family history. The antakshari and dance session was a
resounding success, with all the grandparents attending the program. Following the activities, tea and snacks were served, allowing families to relax, mingle, and enjoy refreshments. A photo booth was set up where families could take pictures together, creating lasting memories of this special day. In all it was a delight to see the grandparents and children enjoying their time together.

 


Class Presentation Grade Nursery

The class presentation of Grade Nursery was held on 31.08.2024 in Junior School. The theme of the class presentation was ‘Splash of Colours with monsoon wonders’’ which aimed to nurture and foster different talents of the
students. The students actively participated and showcased the journey of fun learning at school through amalgamation of different performances like hoopla, yoga poses, poem recitation, dance and many more. The zeal and confidence of the students to perform for their parents was impeccable and was much appreciated by the audience. These experiences gained on stage will stay with them forever.

 


IBR Achiever” by the Indian Book of Records

With great pleasure, GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior announces that Baby Nayra Gupta, a KG student, has been named an “IBR Achiever” by the Indian Book of Records for her remarkable ability to recognize 32 animals, 22 fruits, 24 action phrases, and many more. She’s also having twelve animal sounds she can mimic. Congratulations Nayra, on your amazing accomplishment in the Indian Book of Records! This achievement not only reflects your talents but also serves as an inspiration to your peers.

Class Presentation of  Grade- KG

A class presentation is the best way to showcase the learning of the concepts covered in school, and presenting it before the parents definitely helps the students build the confidence they will carry for a lifetime. The talented Goenkans of Grade KG took the audience into the world of animals through their splendid Class Presentation, “Rumble in the Jungle,” focusing on preserving nature and saving wildlife. The presentation commenced with the morning prayer, followed by a welcome song for the parents. The students displayed enthusiasm and coordination, singing in unison while incorporating simple actions. The students led a short yoga presentation where they demonstrated some animal yoga poses, followed by aerobics promoting physical education. A few students presented a comprehensive overview of the Montessori educational approach, which aimed to share the principles and practical applications of Montessori methods in various learning environments. Another group of students presented a skit, illustrating their imagination and comprehension skills, which allowed them to practice public speaking techniques, followed by a dance performance. The class presentation was a resounding success, showcasing the young students’ growth, creativity, and learning journey. Events like these foster a supportive environment and essential life skills, such as communication and teamwork.


Language Development Grade- KG

Early exposure to English language helps in building a strong foundation. It enhances cognitive abilities and opens up opportunities for communication with people from diverse backgrounds. Different activities are taken up to encourage children to converse in English confidently and learn while playing.


Language Development Grade-Nursery

“A child’s brain is like a sponge, ready to soak up and integrate information from a wide variety of sources” English is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. Communication is important in all aspects of life. Encouraging children to learn English from a young age will help them boost their self-esteem and self-confidence. We at Goenka focus on learning by doing, so different activities were taken up with our tiny tots to encourage them to converse in English.


Earth Week Celebration Grade-Nursery (15.04.24–22.04.24)

15.04.24- Know My Planet: Globe Activity

A Montessori activity was conducted for students, wherein teachers interacted with the globe to engage children to sensitize their senses of touch and sight. This hands-on experience allowed them to develop a concrete understanding of the world around them.

Earth Day, Earth Day, Come, let’s play, We’ll learn to care for Earth today. With trees and flowers, rivers so clear Let’s show our planet love and cheer.

Sensory Walk-Children were taken outside the classrooms for a sensory walk, where they walked on different platforms made up of sticks, cotton, leaves, sand, and water. Walking barefoot allowed children to explore through their feet, which helped them learn what their feet’s reactions are to different textures.

 

18.04.24-Plantation activity– little sapling in my pot

Children planted seeds, and they observed the entire lifecycle of a plant, from seed to sprout to mature plant, fostering a deeper understanding of our nature.

 

19.04.24- Earth Day Craft

Children enjoyed making  earth day crafts, which enhanced their sense of accomplishment and self-confidence, helped build a positive self-image, and encouraged them to explore and express themselves creatively in other areas of their lives.


Splash Bash Grade-KG (May 2024)

Water cools and the sun ablaze, catching some of those hot rays. It is so much fun, to swim in a pool. The school organized a pool bash for the students in a safe and supervised environment. The children had fun splashing
water, playing games with friends. Beyond the fun, the Pool Bash provided valuable experience to students, and together they made unforgettable memories filled with laughter and joy.


Grade-Nursery Activities (April’2024)

Kindergarten activities are designed to promote holistic development in children, encompassing cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. Engaging in a variety of activities fosters the growth of essential skills and abilities during this crucial stage of development. Activities lay the foundation for academic learning by introducing children to basic concepts and skills in literacy, numeracy, science, and other subjects. These activities help build a strong cognitive framework and foster a love for learning, preparing children for future academic success. activities involve problem-solving challenges that encourage children to think critically, make decisions, and find solutions independently or collaboratively. These experiences build resilience, perseverance, and confidence in their problem-solving abilities.


Splash Bash Grade-Nursery (May 2024)

‘’Summer: A time to dive into adventures and soak up the fun’’

‘’A Splish splash pool party was organized for the grade nursery which was the ultimate oasis of cool relaxation and fun.” It was not just a day of fun, but a celebration of summer’s essence – friendship, laughter, and the simple joy of basking in the warmth of good company.” The poolside ambiance was made even sweeter by the presence of ice cream, turning our bash into a refreshing and delectable affair.”


Show n Tell Grade-Nursery (April 2024)

‘’Show and tell teaches us the value of communication, the power of storytelling, and the joy of discovery’’

Show and tell activity was conducted by grade nursery on Topic ‘Hues and shades’ which sparked curiosity and encouraged children to explore the kaleidoscope of colours in nature, art, and everyday life. The activity focused on colours which in kindergarten lays the foundation for future learning, enhancing vocabulary, and laying the groundwork for understanding concepts like mixing and matching.”  The activity encouraged students to articulate their thoughts, ideas, and experiences to an audience, thereby improving verbal communication skills.

At GD Goenka Junior, we believe in the power of experiential learning to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and deepen understanding.

The activities are designed for the young minds to encourage exploration, stimulate creativity, develop critical thinking skills, promote collaboration, and build confidence.

 

 


The young Goenkans of Grade KG enthusiastically participated in the Show and Tell activity Organized 

In this activity, students picked up the real object or cutout related to the theme, Me and My Favourites, like my pet, my fruit, my sport, etc., and presented their lines.

This activity helped the children develop speaking, listening, and environmental skills and also built their confidence.


GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior, is proud to announce that Master Luvyam Kapoor, a student of Grade KG

KG is being recognized by the Indian Book of Records for his exceptional ability to identify 101 countries by their flags and narrate their capitals in just 6 minutes and 16 seconds.

Additionally, Luvyam is capable of locating more than 50 countries on a global map.

Congratulations, Luvyam, on your incredible achievement in the Indian Book of Records! You are an inspiration to all of us, and we are so grateful to have you in our school.


Baisakhi is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal in the Punjab region, where it holds a special cultural and religious significance.

To memorialize Baisakhi festival, a special assembly was planned for Nursery and KG students in GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior on Friday, 12-04-2024.

The assembly commenced with the students reciting the prayer, followed by a brief introduction about Baisakhi by the students of grade KG stating the significance of the festival.

The choir group sang a Baisakhi song followed by a group dance on a popular Bhangra song, which added a festive atmosphere to the assembly.

It was mesmerising to see students performing dressed in traditional vibrant Punjabi attire.

Students of Nursery and KG made corncob craft and dhol craft, decorated with glitter and sequins. This hands-on activity allowed them to express their artistic flair

while learning about traditional crafts. The celebration was a learning experience, allowing our little ones to explore and appreciate the diverse culture that makes our world so rich and beautiful.

‘’Children are not the things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded’’

Eager eyes, curious minds, beaming smiles students and parents of Nursery attended the much awaited Familiarization Day. A process where students were escorted by the parents to the respective class so that they settle in the new environment before they take off on the school journey. The teachers of grade Nursery welcomed and discussed the curriculum which focused on holistic development, incorporating both structured and play based learning activities. It emphasized early literacy, numeracy, social skills, creativity. The parents were later taken for the school tour to meet the activity teachers. Towards the end of the day they left with the smiles and waved at their newly made friends and teachers.

 

 


FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

“With backpacks full of hopes and dreams, children step onto the threshold of a new school year, ready to write the first chapter of their academic journey.”

First day of school was a mixture of excitement and nervousness bubbling within the children. It was a day filled with anticipation and wonder as they stepped through the doors of classrooms, ready to embark on this remarkable journey. The school greeted students with open arms, bustling with the energy of children eagerly embracing the start of a new academic year. The vibrant colours of the classroom welcomed children, creating an atmosphere of warmth and belonging. It was the day filled with laughter, learning, joy and new beginnings.


The start of a new session is always a time filled with excitement. Our little Goenkans had a warm atmosphere today as the day was filled with mixed emotions.

The children were welcomed by teachers with a warm smile as they walked in.

The day was filled with introductions, classroom rules and skill-based activities.
