Assembly Schedule for the session-2024-25

 

• An assembly is when the school community, or a part of it, meets together to share aspects of life that are of worth. It acts as a medium for communicating matters of significance from one generation to another.

• The motive of having an assembly in a school is:

• To develop a feeling of affiliation and unity among students.

• To acquaint students with the school programme more clearly.

• To develop in students a sense of identity with the school.

• To enable students to share their experiences, stories, anecdotes with others.

• To provide them training in good social behaviour desired in public life.

• To motivate students by positive reinforcement in the form of praise or rewards awarded in public

• To facilitate the moral and religious development of students.

• To facilitate national integration and secularism through all-religion prayer meetings among students.


Christmas assembly 

‘Christmas is a time to share love, laughter and kindness with everyone around us’

The Christmas assembly at GD Goenka Model Town Junior was a heart-warming celebration filled with festive cheer, meaningful messages, and joyous performances. The assembly brought together the efforts put in by students of KG Marigolds. It began by seeking the blessings of the almighty. The children enacted a short skit depicting the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. The little Goenkans sang Christmas carols like ‘Joy to the World,’ ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,’ and ‘Jingle Bells’ in their melodious voices. A vibrant Christmas-themed dance added energy and excitement to the celebration. The assembly concluded with a surprise appearance by Santa Claus, spreading smiles among the students.


Assembly Grade KG Roses

“Reduce air pollution, make Earth sustainable.”

An assembly on the topic ‘POLLUTION’ was conducted by the students of KG Roses at GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior on 13th December 2024, Friday. The assembly aimed to educate the students about the importance of stopping pollution and taking care of our environment.

The students put up a nukkad natak, recited a rhyme, and presented a foot-tapping dance performance to create an awareness regarding air pollution, its effects, and solutions.

All the students performed exceptionally well and demonstrated his/her growing self-confidence. The assembly concluded with a pledge to not create pollution and save the mother earth.

Let this assembly inspire us to take responsibility and work collectively towards a pollution-free environment!

 


Guru Nanak Jayanti Assembly 

           “‘There is but one God. His name is Truth; He is the Creator, without fear and without hate, timeless and formless’. – Guru Nanak Dev Ji

A special assembly was presented by the students of Nursery Carnations and Nursery Marigolds to celebrate the joyous occasion Guru Nanak Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. The assembly began with harmonious prayer followed by the recitation of mool mantra ‘Ek Onkar’ in unison, reinforcing the idea that there is one divine force.  Students then spoke few lines about the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Our students then presented poetic hymns, creating an aura of peace and spirituality. In keeping with the traditions, a small skit and prabhat pheri was performed. A special segment of the assembly focused on introducing the ‘Panj Piare’ the five beloved. As the assembly concluded, the students were left with a message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings emphasizing that everyone is equal. His philosophy encouraged selfless service and compassion towards all living beings. His life and teachings continue to inspire millions, fostering peace, harmony and understanding across cultures.

 


Special Assembly Diwali

The Diwali assembly at GD Goenka Model Town Junior School was held in celebration of the Festival of Lights, one of the most significant festivals in Indian culture. The assembly aimed to educate students about the significance of Diwali, fostering cultural awareness and community spirit among young learners.

The assembly commenced with welcome lines by the students of grade KG, who introduced the theme of Diwali and its significance. A group of students dressed in traditional attire presented a dance followed by a skit on Diwali, focusing on green Diwali and promoting use of Indian products. 

After the assembly, children engaged in a craft session where they prepared lanterns and decorated them. This hands-on activity allowed them to express their creativity. The celebration concluded with a snack time preparing sweets such as chocolate ladoos. This moment reinforced the value of sharing, a key aspect of Diwali.


Special Assembly Dussehra

“One who is virtuous and wise, just and merciful, is a true human.”

A special assembly on Dussehra, the festival that resonates the victory of good over evil was presented by the students of grade Nursery Roses and Nursery Asters at GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior. The assembly began with the recitation of Gayatri Mantra followed by a soul stirring Ram bhajan was presented by the students of the choir group highlighting peace and prosperity. Students then spoke about the significance of Dussehra festival on the stage.

Following the prayer, students from both the grades recited a blissful rhyme “राजा राम वीर थे” with actions. The students then narrated a Chaupai and a skit, both of which were performed with remarkable zeal and gusto. The students performed with great enthusiasm and joy. It was evident that the students had put their heart and soul into these acts, creating a captivating experience for everyone present there.

The celebration continued with a passionate Garba dance performance by the students. The graceful and energetic dance moves added a vibrant touch to the assembly, reflecting the celebratory nature of Dussehra. The assembly culminated with showering of flowers on characters portraying lord Ram, Lakshman, Sita and hanuman.


Special Assembly on Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti

On October 2, 2024, GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior, conducted an assembly to honour the birth of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. The event aimed to reflect on Gandhiji’s principles of non-violence, peace, and truth, which continue to inspire millions around the world. The assembly began with a soulful rendition of a prayer, followed by a melodious group song, rhyme recitation, and a dance performance.  Students performed a skit that depicted key events from Gandhiji life. The skits effectively illustrated Gandhiji commitment to nonviolence.  The special assembly on Gandhi Jayanti was a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. It not only celebrated his life but also motivated students to implement his ideals in their actions. The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem, leaving everyone inspired and reflective on the importance of peace and non-violence in today’s world.


Special Assembly Ganesh Chaturthi Grade-KG

OM GAN GANPATAYE NAMAH

Ganesh Chaturthi remarks on the birth of Lord Ganesha. It is a festival of joy, devotion, and happiness. We at Goenka celebrated this festival through a special assembly conducted by KG Orchids. The assembly commenced with the recitation of the VAKRTUNDA MAHAKAYA mantra, followed by the gayatri mantra and prayer. The children performed a beautiful Ganesh Vandana. The significance of the festival was shared by a group of students, followed by a group song, and the groovy dance performance of the children. The assembly culminated with the National Anthem sung by all the students and teachers. The festival awakened devotion, creativity, understanding, and learning amongst children.


Special Assembly Janmashtami Grade-KG

Festive occasions provide a wonderful opportunity to introduce our children to India’s rich cultural heritage.

Keeping this in mind, a special assembly was conducted by the students of KG Tulips on Janmashtami to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna.

The assembly began with children introducing the event, followed by a heartfelt prayer. The story of Lord Krishna’s birth was presented through a series of tableaus. A meaningful thought inspired by the friendship between Krishna and Sudama was shared by a student. The children then recited a cheerful rhyme about Lord Krishna and sang the bhajan “Chhoti Chhoti Gaiya.” The assembly featured a lively dance performance and ended with a playful dahi handi activity.

Overall, the assembly was a joyous and educational experience, celebrating Janmashtami while fostering the holistic development of the children.


Special Assembly on Earth Day

A special assembly on Earth Day was conducted, beginning with a morning prayer. It was followed by an informative skit that showed how our mother earth is getting polluted. The young choir sang a soulful and melodious song dedicated to Mother Earth. The assembly concluded with a puppet show by the teachers, highlighting the measures that we all can take to protect the environment.


Baisakhi Assembly Grade-Nursery & KG

Baisakhi is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal in the Punjab region, where it holds a special cultural and religious significance.

To memorialize Baisakhi festival, a special assembly was planned for Nursery and KG students in GD Goenka Public School Model Town Junior on Friday, 12-04-2024.

The assembly commenced with the students reciting the prayer, followed by a brief introduction about Baisakhi by the students of grade KG stating the significance of the festival.

The choir group sang a Baisakhi song followed by a group dance on a popular Bhangra song, which added a festive atmosphere to the assembly.

It was mesmerising to see students performing dressed in traditional vibrant Punjabi attire.

Students of Nursery and KG made corncob craft and dhol craft, decorated with glitter and sequins. This hands-on activity allowed them to express their artistic flair

while learning about traditional crafts. The celebration was a learning experience, allowing our little ones to explore and appreciate the diverse culture that makes our world so rich and beautiful
